Carpet flooring over tile: Is it possible?

Don't try this yourself

It looks easy, but tile-to-carpet can be tricky. This carpet installation is almost like installing over concrete.

First, the professional will check for loose tiles and remove them and any broken ones. You don't want to learn about a loose tile after it's installed.

Then the floor will be sanded, so debris and its level are removed. There could also be height issues that need to be dealt with.

Use the right kind of carpet

Thin, tightly woven rugs can show everything. But, of course, you want to hide that,  so choose something like a frieze.
